Solar Payback Calculator
Simple modeled payback period
12.5 years
Modeled annual energy value
$640
Modeled annual self-use savings
$600
What changes this most?
Self-consumption generally creates more value when the avoided import tariff exceeds the export tariff.
Sensitivity check
A roughly 10% move in annual generation changes the modeled headline result by up to 1.6 years in this setup.
This is simple payback, not an investment return. Tariffs, generation and equipment performance can change.

Formula
Annual solar value combines avoided import cost on self-used generation plus export revenue, less entered annual maintenance; simple payback divides installation cost by annual value.
This is a simple payback model. It excludes financing, tax, degradation, inverter replacement and changing tariffs unless reflected in inputs.
Editable rates, growth assumptions, prices, fees, and percentages are planning inputs unless the calculator explicitly identifies a current source.
